University of Virginia Cavaliers Fans - The Gamma Phi Beta Girls

Founded: 1874 at Syracuse University
Symbol: Crescent Moon
Flower: Pink Carnation
Colors: Pink and Brown
Four Core Values: Love, labor, learning, and loyalty
Fun Fact: Gamma Phi Beta's badge is the only one designed by Tiffany and Co.

In a society where women were discouraged from entering college, four women from Syracuse University--Frances E. Haven, Helen M. Dodge, E. Adeline Curtis, and Mary A.Bingham--came together to form an organization they named Gamma Phi Beta in 1874. Now, over 130 years later, we celebrate the vision and dedication of those women and all that have come since then, who have built Gamma Phi Beta into a well-respected, dynamic sorority. Gamma Phi Beta's is one of the 10 oldest women's organizations in America and was the first women's organization to be called a "sorority," giving us a tradition of excellence from our foundation.
